Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team at Albany Accommodation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our clients, volunteers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing menu planners in consultation with clients and managers;
  • Preparing and serving hot meals, ensuring high standards of presentation using Food Safe Principles;
  • Shopping and preparation of food for minor functions;
  • Maintaining stock control of cooking utensils, crockery, and cutlery;
  • Maintaining effective communication with all members of the team;
  • Participating in Quality Improvement activities;
  • Knowing appropriate procedures and contacts in an emergency;
  • Maintaining reporting procedures and informing the Coordinator or Manager of any concerns;
  • Participating in relevant meetings and maintaining effective records of daily activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Successful completion of the Foodsafe Food Hygiene Training;
  • Food Safe competencies or willingness to obtain one;
  • Able to develop healthy and nutritious menus while working within allocated resources;
  • Prepare and present tasty and appetising meals;
  • Provide high standard of cleanliness;
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Certificate (or willing to obtain);
  • Previous experience in working with people with disabilities;
  • Understanding of modified diets;
  • Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to the National Disability Standards.
