Transformative Data Engineering Role

We are on a mission to revolutionize the way data is collected, processed, and analyzed. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our integrated platform, technology, and data solutions.

Our innovative platforms empower financial advisers to provide quality advice to Australians. We seek a skilled Data Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams, onboard new customers, and interpret their data needs.

  • Collaborate with Product and Delivery teams to onboard new customers and translate business requirements into robust development, implementation, and integration solutions.
  • Design, develop, and enhance ETL processes and data transformation pipelines to drive business growth.
  • Partner with testers, analysts, business stakeholders, and technical leads to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing systems and processes, including participation in a shared after-hours support roster.
  • Upskill in modern data technologies such as Databricks and DBT, with opportunities to contribute to full-stack development and broaden your engineering capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Software Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and database design principles, particularly in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Advanced SQL development skills, with proven experience creating stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Modern Data Stacks, with specific experience in Databricks highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in C# for building Web Services, Microservices, and ETL functions using Visual Studio.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using testing tools such as Postman or similar automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience working within an Agile (SCRUM) development environment.
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Apigee Web Services is desirable.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours application support as part of a rotating roster.
