Security Engineer II, Physical Operations Incident Response, PhysOps, AWS Security Operations Center

Amazon Web Services is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join the Security Operations Center (SOC) Physical Operations (PhysOps) team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in driving physical security incident response across AWS, spanning a range of physical, logical, and technical domains.
As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for owning and managing in-flight security issues, triaging and assessing security issues, and engaging with internal service teams to ensure prompt mitigation and remediation of issues. You will also communicate the state of these issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders, in varying levels and roles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security operations, incident response, and emergent security intelligence, with experience in building and improving tooling to improve global operational efficiency. You will also have a high proficiency for context switching, enabling you to manage incidents, act as an escalation point to the team, communicate to senior leaders, and deliver projects/process improvement results.
About the Team
The Physical Operations (PhysOps) team sits within the AWS Security Operations Center (SOC). The AWS SOC provides security customer support for AWS employees, continuous 24/7 monitoring of AWS physical security controls, incident response in both physical and logical environments, and Business Continuity (BC) for AWS services.
The PhysOps team in APJC is based out of Singapore and Sydney. This role will be Sydney based.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object-oriented language experience, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Experience with AWS products and services, threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience are also preferred.
