Job Description

At Hanes Australasia, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to join our Expense Management team as the Financial Accounting Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise and assume responsibility for providing high-quality financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 3 Expense Accountants and oversee the timely completion of month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet analysis.
  • Assume responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and manage accounting for designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Provide ad-hoc accounting problem-solving and ensure external and internal audit compliance.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an accounting role within a large corporate environment or professional practice.
  • A degree in accounting or finance and CA or CPA qualification.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and experience in a role with at least one direct report.
  • Excel skills at an advanced level and experience working with a large accounting system, preferably JD Edwards.
  • Ability to problem-solve and analyze complex data and a critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
