About the Role
We are seeking a senior geologist to support our site's production, planning, and logistical needs through the timely delivery of the weekly coal schedule and feed plan.
The role will provide coal recovery plans, operational guidance, and pit support as the vital link between the short-term schedule, production, and logistics.
The successful candidate will engage with production, planning, and logistics teams to deliver against the short-term planning targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate the weekly coal schedule, optimising the feed plans and blend to efficiently meet logistics needs;
- Provide geological field support to the site operational teams with coal recovery plans and pit inspections with a focus on quality;
- Work proactively with production teams to sequence coal to the CHPP to meet quality requirements and manage coal quality, loss and dilution, and ROM management;
- Complete End of Month reporting activities;
Requirements
- A Tertiary Qualification in Geology, Mining Engineering, or associated discipline;
- A valid Australia Driver's Licence;
- Scheduling experience and strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- Experience in open cut coal mining;
- The ability to perform pit inspections and influence operational stakeholders whilst delivering to a plan;
- Experience with and understanding of coal quality;
- Detailed knowledge of industry best practice in horizon and grade control processes in a truck and shovel mining environment;
