About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team at Whitehaven Coal's Vickery Mine. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support for all drill and blast activities on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain plans, designs, and blast packs for all blasts
  • Provide direction to Technical Services and Operations regarding shot locations, timing, and blasting requirements
  • Ensure drill patterns are available for drilling in a timely manner to minimize operational delays
  • Maintain a 2-week Drill and Blast schedule and communicate sequence and requirements to Operations and Technical Services
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of mining experience in a Drill and Blast engineering role
  • Experience with Blastlogic and Vulcan (or similar mine planning software)
  • High-level written and oral communication skills
  • High-level computer literacy
  • Strong data analysis skills
