We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate holder to join our team as a Workshop Specialist - Underground Load & Haul Equipment Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, parts, service, and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality technical expertise and services for load and haul equipment at the Mount Isa Workshop.
- Guide and enhance the technical skills of our in-house team in relation to these products.
- Apply a proactive approach to ensuring machine performance, assisting customers to improve their productivity and the success of their operations.
- Provide internal technical assistance to resolve issues for our customers.
- Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment (Specifically, Load & Haul equipment).
- Mentor peers and upskill our workshop technical knowledge of underground drills.
- Actively lead major workshop scoped works and machine builds, providing a high level of technical diagnosis and repairs.
- Perform mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
- Provide feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
- Provide technical support to service personnel, providing high-level technical experience in cases of complex technical issues.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Workshop Supervisor and relevant stakeholders to enable improvements to the workshop and its capacity.
- Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims for our local customers.
- 7+ years post-trade experience in underground mining.
- Proven track record working in remote locations and possessing a deep understanding of the diverse cultural dynamics that come with the locations.
- Expertise in Sandvik equipment is essential.
- Experience in a similar position, with a strong emphasis on delivering technical training to maintenance personnel and operators.
