Job Title: Digital and Social Advisor

Hume City Council is seeking a highly skilled Digital and Social Advisor to join our Strategic Communications & Advocacy team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented individual to develop and deliver Council's external digital and social communications activities to raise awareness of Council services, programs, projects, initiatives, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an annual content plan to raise awareness and inform our community about Council services, programs, projects, initiatives, and events.
  • Research, develop, and evaluate online and digital communication campaigns to positively promote the City, Council, and its services, facilities, events, and activities.
  • Support the implementation of a results-driven social media strategy to raise awareness, connect, and engage with our community about Council services, programs, projects, initiatives, and events.
  • Advise on the most appropriate social content to enhance engagement on posts to promote and inform the community about Council services, programs, projects, initiatives, and events.
  • Maintain Council's website content and assist in the coordination of its management.
  • Help innovate and evolve Council's websites, ensuring good governance, functionality, search, and appropriate and targeted content.
  • Provide high-level communications advice for senior decision-makers on key issues, policy matters, and implementation priorities to support Council objectives.
  • Support the strategic review of Council's communications tools and recommend and implement changes to ensure that they are engaging, innovative, targeted, appropriate, and cost-effective.
  • Help monitor and audit Council's digital communications to ensure consistency with Council's brand and corporate identity and align with its values.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive demonstrated experience in communications, public relations, or marketing or a similar field.
  • A current driver's licence.
