Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Lighting Team, Lighting Supervisor, and CG Supervisor to achieve the highest quality work.
- Design and create lighting and look development for computer-generated objects and scenes.
- Responsible for the final CG scene assembly, lighting, and rendering of very complex shots.
- Work closely with Supervisors to determine the best approach to solving CG challenges and developing the final look.
- Create efficient rendering set-ups to optimize render farm usage.
- Ensure ongoing communication with Production and Lighting team regarding schedules and deadlines.
- Mentor junior artists within the Lighting/Look Development team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics or equivalent experience.
- Experience in real-world lighting and photography.
- Demonstrable advanced Lighting and Rendering experience within a VFX environment.
- Previous experience in Look Development tasks.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Excellent aesthetic eye and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to teach and mentor junior artists.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Renderman and/or other unbiased rendering systems.
- Knowledge of Katana, Maya, and/or Zeno.
- Understanding of physically plausible shading techniques.
- Knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
