About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Agricultural Research Assistant to join our team in the Agriculture & Food Research Unit. The successful candidate will work closely with our experts to develop and implement innovative solutions for crop production and pest management.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Transformation and Tissue Culture: Conduct experiments on plant transformation and tissue culture to support research initiatives.
- Maintenance of Insect Populations: Ensure the health and well-being of insect populations used in research projects.
- Transient Leaf Expression Assays: Perform transient leaf expression assays in Nicotiana benthamiana to evaluate gene expression.
- Care of Plant Populations: Maintain plant populations in the glasshouse/growth cabinets, including sowing, transplanting, sampling, and molecular characterization.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., botany, genetics, biochemistry).
- Skills: Strong laboratory skills, experience with plant transformation and tissue culture techniques, and proficiency in molecular biology methods.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar role or in a related field.
