Swimming Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Swimming Teacher to join our team at VIC, Monbulk Aquatic Centre. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy swimming, love working with children, and want to teach the skills of swimming and the value of water safety.

The role involves teaching effective Swimming and Water Safety to help grow our swim program. As a member of our team, you will be required to work mornings, evenings, and weekends and must be empathetic to the needs of the classes.

You will have a passion for swimming and making children safer around the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing, and fun, with a flair for working with children. Excellent verbal communication skills are essential to ensure that swim school members, patrons, and parents gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Swimming and Water Safety to students of all ages and abilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to achieve program goals
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Energetic, innovative, and decisive teaching style
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Current First Aid (Level 2) and Current CPR Certificate
  • Working With Children Check and National Police Check
  • AUSTSWIM Certificate - Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety
