Job Summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Compliance and Governance Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will have experience in internal audit or Big 4 accounting practice with relevant expertise in financial services.

Responsibilities include participating in independent reviews of control frameworks, systems, policies and procedures across the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) and Market Risk.

You will be required to identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.

Some key accountabilities include:

  • Developing an understanding of the WIB and Market Risk portfolios, their products as relevant, and how they operate both domestically and internationally.
  • Assisting in audit planning, including the identification of processes, risks and controls for testing.
  • Identifying and documenting audit issues, including performing a significance analysis and agreeing management action plans.
  • Assisting in the reporting stages of the audit engagement, including preparing and discussing audit reports with management.
