Job Title: Data Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and data infrastructure for our analytics, machine learning, and reporting platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of efficient and scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data from diverse sources including SQL databases, APIs, and streaming services.
  • Define and own the strategic roadmap for our data platform (BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Dataflow), ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness against agreed KPIs (availability, accuracy, latency, spend).
  • Practise best-practice software engineering (CI/CD, IaC, code reviews, testing, observability) to drive high-quality and sustainable delivery across the team.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance, security, and privacy frameworks to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading or managing a data engineering team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and strong coding skills in Python, with a track record of delivering reliable and scalable data solutions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
