Subcontract Manager Role

This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of subcontractors, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of essential services and components to our programs.

The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end subcontracting process, from pre-award through post-award administration, while maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers/vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of subcontracts, including creation, negotiation, and execution.
  • Oversee subcontract performance against KPIs, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct risk assessments on subcontractor performance and proactively address any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with project managers, legal, finance, and other departments to ensure effective integration of subcontracting activities into overall project plans.
  • Lead subcontract negotiations, including terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on subcontract performance, risks, and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in subcontract management or procurement, preferably within Defence.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing subcontracts and vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of subcontracting processes, contract law, and procurement regulations.
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required.
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
