About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine and complex maintenance procedures on plant equipment, including heavy mobile plant, trucks, and earthmoving equipment.

The role involves performing fault diagnosis, installation, maintenance, and repair tasks across site equipment and infrastructure. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to service and maintain diesel-powered fixed plant pumps and trailers, as well as attend to breakdowns and minor works on the small light vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and provide support for plant maintenance as required
  • Maintain and repair heavy mobile plant, trucks, or earthmoving equipment
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance procedures on plant equipment
  • Servicing and maintaining diesel-powered fixed plant pumps and trailers
  • Attending to breakdowns and minor works on the small light vehicle (LV) fleet

Requirements:

  • A Trade Qualification in Diesel Mechanics with at least 3 years' experience
  • Previous experience working as a heavy diesel mechanic in the Mining sector
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant, trucks, or earthmoving equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
