We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Liability Underwriter to join our team in Queensland. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing liability risks for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Apply underwriting strategy to target markets and accounts in the Queensland region
- Underwrite liability insurance risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and standards
- Liaise with account management and business development teams to support account management and procurement
- Support and mentor team members, providing guidance as needed and taking responsibility for personal development
- Support the management of the liability portfolio across underwriting processing and credit management, documentation issuance, and general servicing and management of liability risks
- Build and develop relationships with customers, including partner agent and broker visits to nurture relationships and opportunities
- Proven experience in general liability underwriting, insurance risk management, or related roles
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance agents, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating general insurance risks and determining coverage terms
- Problem-solving abilities to address complex underwriting scenarios and negotiate terms with stakeholders
- Customer-centric approach to understanding client needs and providing responsive service
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of pricing and portfolio management
- An insurance qualification, such as ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards
