Job Opportunity: Robotics Researcher

We have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the robotics team at a leading university, working alongside researchers focused on collaborative robotics.

This position is supported by the Australian Research Council's Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Collaborative Robotics in Advanced Manufacturing program. The Centre offers a training program emphasizing professional development and technical skills, including opportunities for knowledge growth, skill acquisition, experience building, and professional standard enhancement through on-the-job tasks, social learning, and formal training.

The Centre prioritizes collaboration and knowledge sharing between industry and research partners, and this role will contribute to strengthening existing partnerships with external stakeholders and developing new ones. This position may involve periods working directly at partner organizations, as well as at university sites, requiring travel outside the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement practical solutions in real-world scenarios, demonstrating strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and effective collaboration with tools and machinery.
  • Contribute to research projects, identifying and tracking milestones, reporting progress, and overcoming completion barriers.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-institution research team, working with minimal supervision, and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills for scholarly publications, technical reports, and project documentation.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a doctoral qualification in a related field, with proven knowledge of research techniques and methodologies in a key area of research – i.e., robotics, mechatronics, IoT, digital product and systems design, systems engineering, or digital manufacturing.
