About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Contracting domain team. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional user experiences to our supply partners, enabling them to sign up and participate in the Expedia Group marketplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Contracting team and other partners to build and ship partner-facing features in a rapidly moving and dynamic environment.
  • Utilize your creativity, engineering skills, and technical knowledge to deliver value and improvements iteratively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that visual design is meticulously up to spec and using the best browser-based web app technology for a truly outstanding experience.
  • Monitor the operational aspects of the platform, including deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring, providing support and maintenance for these applications.
  • Employ a quality approach to unit testing, code review, and integration testing.
  • Continuously seek and learn new technical skills in an engineering area.
  • Feel comfortable challenging authority and the status quo.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's in Computer Science & Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
  • 2+ years of software development experience in web application development.
  • Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, and ES6.
  • Some experience developing with other languages such as Java or Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and CSS pre-processors such as Jest and SASS.
  • Worked with or knowledge of Apollo/GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with AWS and automated application deployment.
  • Understanding of testing and monitoring tools (like Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, etc.).
  • Able to test, debug, and monitor your code.
  • Able to collaborate and get results in a complex cross-disciplinary working environment.
