Software Development Engineer II

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Contracting domain team. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional user experiences to our supply partners, enabling them to sign up and participate in the Expedia Group marketplace.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Contracting team and other partners to build and ship partner-facing features in a rapidly moving and dynamic environment.
- Utilize your creativity, engineering skills, and technical knowledge to deliver value and improvements iteratively and efficiently.
- Ensure that visual design is meticulously up to spec and using the best browser-based web app technology for a truly outstanding experience.
- Monitor the operational aspects of the platform, including deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring, providing support and maintenance for these applications.
- Employ a quality approach to unit testing, code review, and integration testing.
- Continuously seek and learn new technical skills in an engineering area.
- Feel comfortable challenging authority and the status quo.
- Bachelor's degree or Master's in Computer Science & Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 2+ years of software development experience in web application development.
- Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, and ES6.
- Some experience developing with other languages such as Java or Kotlin.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and CSS pre-processors such as Jest and SASS.
- Worked with or knowledge of Apollo/GraphQL.
- Familiarity with AWS and automated application deployment.
- Understanding of testing and monitoring tools (like Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, etc.).
- Able to test, debug, and monitor your code.
- Able to collaborate and get results in a complex cross-disciplinary working environment.
