About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Amenity Enforcement Officer (Animal Management) to join our Local Laws department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and amenity of the City of Maribyrnong.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforcement and Compliance: Enforce relevant Acts, Regulations, and Council's Local Laws applicable to animal management, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Issue Infringement Notices: Issue Infringement notices and record details relevant to the Infringement notices in line with Council policies and procedures.
  • Patrols and Investigations: Undertake daily foot and/or vehicular patrols of specific areas, including all parks within the Municipality, and conduct investigations in relation to complaints received.
  • Public Engagement: Interview, advise, and educate members of the public by various means, including face-to-face, telephone, written, and attendance at public forums.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain a diary of all activities, taking responsibility for the investigation of complaints, enforcement action, and provision of a timely response to Customer Service requests.
  • Court Attendance: Prepare reports relating to enforcement action and attend Court as required, providing evidence and testimony.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate 4 in Government (Statutory Compliance) or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and interpret Acts and Regulations, making informed decisions on an appropriate course of action.
