Workshop Machining Supervisor

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to oversee a team of Fitter/Machinists at our Geraldton workshop, responsible for ensuring efficient and safe production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Supervise a team of Fitters/Machinists to meet productivity targets and maintain high-quality standards;
  • Monitor and control workflow, prioritizing tasks to optimize output and minimize downtime;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation and resolve any issues that may arise;
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents;
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and performance;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on production, quality, and safety metrics.

Requirements:

">
  • Minimum 2 years supervisor or leading hand experience preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment;
  • Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining;
  • Construction Industry White Card;
  • Current Police Clearance obtained within the past 12 months;
  • Current Driver's License;
  • Geraldton based or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High Risk LF qualification;
  • Dogging certification;
  • WAH (Western Australian Handball) qualification;
  • EWP (Elevating Work Platform) certification;
  • MR Truck Licence;
  • Experience with QAQC Management and paperwork;
  • Familiarity with mining standards and OHS regulations.

Additional Skills:

  • Technical skills: experience with machining and operating machines including Milling, Manual Lathe, CNC Programming, Hydraulic Press, and Balancing Machine;
  • Strong work ethic: ability to work independently with high motivation, energy, and commitment managing multiple priorities effectively;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to actively solve problems and work unsupervised;
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills: open-mindedness and willingness to work collaboratively support continuous improvement and adapt to system management environments.
