About The Project:
John Holland serves as GoldlinQ's designated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, tasked with extending the current light rail network by 6.7 kilometers from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads. This includes the addition of eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and upgrades to intersections along the route.
Your Role:
In the capacity of a Senior Safety Advisor, you will oversee and facilitate the safety operations of the project, ensuring the implementation and coordination of safety practices, systems, and protocols within the Gold Coast Light Rail project team.
- Advise and assist the Construction Team in fostering a safety culture that aligns with the company's vision, including adequate training and development for safety-critical roles.
- Ensure the project upholds robust risk management processes, maintaining focus and discipline concerning safety.
- Conduct investigations into all incidents on-site and propose measures to avert future occurrences.
- Provide expert support to internal stakeholders, including operational leaders, project personnel, contractors, clients, and visitors.
- Ensure the project comprehends and possesses the tools necessary to fulfill their regulatory and legal safety obligations.
- Maintain thorough safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements, and track safety performance progress.
- Stay informed on relevant legal, regulatory, and company safety requirements, ensuring the workplace is updated on pertinent changes.
About You:
- Possess an Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Hold a Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in Construction Tier 1 roles.
- Experience in audit management practices for 2-3 years.
- Proficient in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions related to project delivery and implementation.
- Familiarity with safety legislation and statutes (particularly those pertaining to Comcare), with the ability to interpret applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the project.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and statutes, with the ability to interpret applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the project.
