About the ProjectWe're working on the Gold Coast Light Rail project, extending the existing network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads. This project involves eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Your RoleAs a Senior Safety Advisor, you'll play a critical role in monitoring and supporting the safety function of the project. Your responsibilities will include:
- Guiding and supporting the Construction Team to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns with our company vision.
- Ensuring the project maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus, and discipline related to safety.
- Investigating all causes of events on site and recommending actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Providing specialist support to internal stakeholders, including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients, and visitors.
- Ensuring the project understands and meets its regulatory and legal safety obligations.
- Maintaining comprehensive safety records, managing statutory reporting requirements, and monitoring safety performance progress.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and company safety requirements, ensuring workplaces are informed of relevant changes.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:
- Advanced Diploma in Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
- Construction Tier 1 experience (5+ years).
- Audit management practices (2-3 years).
- Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
- Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to Comcare), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the project.
