Cultural Development Officer Position

This role involves designing and delivering events and programs that promote social connection, participation, health and wellbeing, and reflect the cultural vitality of the community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating events and activities through a community cultural development approach;
  • Designing, developing and delivering outdoor community events in a safe and compliant framework;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes;
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to plan and execute events within a safe and compliant framework;

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in creating events and activities through a community cultural development approach;
  • Extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of outdoor community events in a safe and compliant event and risk management framework;
  • Proven ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including internal and external stakeholders, program partners and networks;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and within tight deadlines;
  • Ability to develop and manage project budgets and understand local government procurement processes and contract management.
