About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our team at Hatch. As a key member of our Earth Sciences and Engineering group, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality projects and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the growth of our water business by contributing to pursuits and proposals.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and technical teams to lead the execution of various ongoing projects.
  • Manage projects, ensuring direct communication with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Participate in hydrotechnical-related project work, including consulting assignments, management, and peer review.
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in multi-discipline hydrotechnical projects.
  • Advanced understanding of key principles in Infrastructure and Energy, including dam safety, flood risk management, and tailings storage facilities operations.
  • Experience with water balance, hydrology, and flood modeling software, such as GoldSim, TUFLOW, RORB, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, FLIKE, and URBS.
  • Proficiency in GIS skills using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • CPEng and RPEQ/RPEV qualifications are highly regarded.
