Court Liaison Officer (cnc2, Ot4, Sw4, Clinical Psychologist)
Role OverviewThe successful applicant will play a pivotal role in supporting the diversion of defendants with mental health needs from the Criminal Justice System into community-based treatment options.
This challenging yet rewarding position requires strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of mental health principles to provide effective support to individuals with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough evaluations to identify suitable diversion options for defendants with mental health issues.
- Collaborate closely with the SCCLS team to deliver high-quality mental health support services in Local Courts across NSW.
- Foster strong relationships with other service providers to ensure comprehensive care for individuals with mental health needs.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health and hold a current NSW Driver's Licence. Additionally, they must meet the qualifications outlined below by Professional Stream:
- Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia; current full registration with AHPRA; five years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Occupational Therapist Level 4: Qualifications registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; general registration with the Board; five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Social Worker Level 4: Bachelor's degree in social work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (or equivalent); five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Clinical Psychologist: Four-year degree in psychology (or three-year degree with honours) or equivalent; general registration with AHPRA; five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
