Job Role:

The Credit Professional will be responsible for assessing financial circumstances of applicants, ensuring sufficient documentation and verification, and protecting each application against possible fraud. They will also liaise with customers/3rd parties to verify details, assess applications accurately and fairly, and suggest best practice loan processing initiatives.

  • Assess financial circumstances of applicants in line with credit policy
  • Ensure sufficient documentation and verification is provided by the applicants
  • Assess/protect each application against possible fraud
  • Liaise with customers/3rd parties to verify details as needed
  • Assess all applications accurately and fairly ensuring the product suits the applicant's needs
  • Suggest and implement best practice loan processing initiatives to drive and improve the business
  • Work as part of a successful team, leading by example with a view to expanding a credit team within the business
  • Provide continuous feedback to improve credit criteria, policy and scorecards
  • Manage operations/processes required in approving credit

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in similar role in similar industry
  • Good understanding of Australian Regulated Credit
  • Certificate IV in Credit Management
  • Natural problem solver and solution provider
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Internal & external stakeholder management
  • Proactive, self-starter and disciplined
  • Planning, organising and time-management skills
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills with good judgement and within authority
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates success at managing high-volume workloads and deadlines
  • Desire to learn and take on feedback
