About the Magistrates' Court of Victoria
">The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction that provides justice for the people of Victoria. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. Our goal is to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that offers quality services to the community.
">Assessment and Referral Court (ARC)
">The Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) is expanding to Ballarat. ARC is a solution-focused court underpinned by principles of therapeutic jurisprudence and recovery-oriented mental health practice. We focus on understanding and responding to underlying factors contributing to offending behaviour for people experiencing mental ill-health and/or cognitive disability.
">Key Responsibilities
">Supporting the Regional Court Coordinator, you will perform a dual function of supporting the listing and registry functions across all jurisdictions and more specifically the coordination of the ARC list, including in-court duties. You will operate in a complex, demanding and sensitive environment, requiring the ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion while liaising effectively with the Judiciary, court users and members of the ARC multidisciplinary team.
