Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in a psychiatric clinic. As a valued member, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth patient check-in process, managing appointments, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and ensure a smooth check-in process
  • Manage appointments and update electronic patient records using a reliable system
  • Handle patient billing, transactions, and Medicare/Private Health claims
  • Scan and distribute documentation and incoming mail
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current visa to work in Australia
  • Previous experience in medical administration or office administration
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Mac experience is a plus
  • Understanding of Medicare and Private Health billing
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible to cover sick and annual leave when needed
Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, previous experience using electronic health records/practice management software and working in a mental health or medical clinic would be highly desirable.
