As a Planning Officer, you will assist the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in delivering the Metropolitan Land Acquisition Program. You will coordinate with Regional staff within PV and DEECA to ensure the program is delivered in line with the funding agreement. This position will cover Melbourne and Southern Regions.

You will support the Regional Coordinator by assessing and prioritizing land for acquisition, preparing strategies for parklands parcels proposed to be managed by Parks Victoria. The successful candidate will have expertise in land use and statutory planning matters, including knowledge of Crown Land and Public Acquisition Overlay processes (PAO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the delivery of the Metropolitan Land Acquisition Program
  • To coordinate with Regional staff within PV and DEECA
  • To assess and prioritize land for acquisition
  • To prepare strategies for parklands parcels

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification relating to Planning, Natural Resource Management or Environmental Science
  • Demonstrated experience in providing expert advice and technical support in land use and statutory planning matters
  • Working knowledge of land use and statutory planning, procedural requirements and legislation
