Job Opportunity

Fulton Hogan is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Industries Team based in Cedar Creek. The successful applicant will have an understanding and basic knowledge in construction laboratories and have attained NATA signatory status for test methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with quarry laboratory operations based at Cedar Creek and possible SEQ mobile sites.
  • Undertake compliance testing for samples of aggregate, soils, road base, and CTB material.
  • Ensure laboratory and production facility compliance with NATA, and Department of Main Roads Construction Materials Testing Supplier Registration System.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with the design and performance of laboratory mix designs/ blends & quarry R&D to the required specifications.
  • Direct responsibility for source rock schedules for all materials, and Lot Control / Lot Management.
  • Assist Laboratory Foreman and Lab. Supervisor whilst ensuring all tests are reported through our reporting tool Qestlab effectively.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of laboratory and production facility calibration requirements.
  • Quarry and soils testing laboratory experience, techniques, and accreditation (advantageous).
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Questlab.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment and a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation, interpretation and delivery of data.
