Biodiversity Officer Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Biodiversity Officer to join our team in Parkville, VIC. As a Biodiversity Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining biodiversity sites across Melbourne's parks and gardens.

The role involves hands-on ecological restoration and conservation efforts to support thriving spaces. You will work closely with our team to identify native and weed species, promote ecosystem longevity through habitat creation and regeneration processes, and manage vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and maintenance standards.

  • Maintaining biodiversity sites through herbicide application, hand weeding, brush-cutting, and woody weed removal
  • Identifying native and weed species to support ecological restoration projects
  • Promoting ecosystem longevity through habitat creation and regeneration processes

To succeed in this role, you will need a minimum AQF 5 qualification in Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, Horticulture or similar. A current Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check are also essential.
