
Program Visionary

A Strategic Program Lead will be accountable for a group of interdependent projects that are relatively medium to high complexity.
The role is focused on creating the program vision; planning documents and managing the integration, implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall program on time, within scope and budget.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Planning the overall program, scope and monitoring progress;
- Plan and lead the delivery of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables.
- Defining the program governance (controls);
- Clarify roles and responsibilities within the project team and ensure project compliance with wider program and/or portfolio management decision-making structures and processes.
- Managing the program's resources;
- Managing stakeholders' communication;
- Developing and implementing strategy for the program team, including developing a robust risk mitigation plan;
- Managing dependencies and interfaces between projects;
- Liaising with other teams to increase awareness of programs;
- Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to agreed governance bodies;
- Project Benefit Realization Deliver baseline assessments and post-implementation analyses to evaluate and track the realization of business benefits.
Program Management
A key aspect of this role is project management. From time to time, the Program Manager will be responsible for running projects within their programs depending on size and complexity.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning the Project, including scope sign off, detailed project plan, resource planning and reporting;
- Implement the Project as per policy, framework and processes;
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments in project plans as necessary to ensure successful completion;
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress of the project;
- Review the quality of the work completed with project stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure it meets project standards;
- Control the project by writing status reports for key project stakeholders;
- Evaluate the project - Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality;
- Risk & Issue Management - Make recommendations concerning organisation's risks as it relates to current IT system and escalating risks where required.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 3 to 5 years experience in managing medium to large programs;
- At least 7 years' experience leading project teams;
- Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure and IT technologies;
- Sound knowledge of Project/Program management frameworks & AgilePM methodology;
- Possess a suitable certification and/or relevant tertiary qualifications in Program Management/ Project Management or AgilePM, PRINCE2 certification desirable.
