Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Sustained Adoption of Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop and implement strategies to drive the adoption of data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Identify Opportunities for Data Science/AI: Identify opportunities for data science and AI across the business and deliver value at scale.
  • Conduct In-Depth Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis, apply statistical techniques, and develop predictive models to extract insights and uncover patterns that drive actionable recommendations and business strategies.
  • Build and Deploy Machine Learning Algorithms: Build and deploy machine learning algorithms, utilizing techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning to solve complex business problems and enhance decision-making processes.
  • Build Out Data Assets: Build out data assets using an array of data science modeling techniques.
  • Contribute to Responsible AI Policy & Principles: Contribute towards the delivery of Responsible AI policy & principles.
  • Improve Analytics Capability: Actively seek ways to improve the analytics capability of RAA and identify applications of Data Science to solve business problems.
  • Provide Clear Direction: Provide clear direction, purpose, and context for the team's work, setting clear targets with agreed deliverables and timeframes.

Requirements
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications: Successful completion of relevant tertiary qualifications is mandatory.
  • Experience in Data Science: At least 5 years' experience in a role applying Data Science techniques is mandatory.
  • Leadership Experience: Able to provide effective leadership and lead teams to deliver to agreed timeframes.
  • Machine Learning Algorithms: Knowledge and implementation of machine learning algorithms.
  • Data Science Techniques: Advanced skills in the application of Data Science techniques using Dataiku and scripting languages (R, Python, etc).
  • SQL Server: Demonstrated advanced skills in SQL Server.
  • Cloud-Based Platforms: Knowledge of cloud-based platforms, such as Azure or Amazon, and the application of Data Analytics in cloud computing.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (managing or leading teams) preferred.
