Resident Boarding Tutor Opportunity

This role is an excellent chance to provide support and care for adolescent girls in a boarding environment. The Resident Boarding Tutor will work closely with House Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the house, offering pastoral care and academic support to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 10 hours of tutoring per week to students in Years 6-12, receiving accommodation and meals during term time as part of the arrangement.
  • Undertake overnight duties from 10pm to 7am on four nights a week, earning a paid allowance.
  • Participate in rostered extra work to assist with early morning calls, accompany students on outings, supervise a house, offer additional tutoring or organize activities – totaling a minimum of 8 hours of supervisory time.
  • Provide furnished shared onsite accommodation, ensuring you bring your own linen.
  • Supply all meals (during school term time), power, and internet access.
Requirements
  • A genuine desire to work with adolescent girls in a residential setting, away from their homes.
  • The ability to relate to adolescent girls and their carers.
  • A valid Paid Blue Card prior to commencement.
  • Submission of your name to the Anglican Church's Professional Standards Register.
  • Adherence to the Anglican ethos and Code of Conduct of St Hilda's School.

This live-in position requires attendance at Boarding on rostered weeknights, duty sleepovers, and participation in required events.

As a Resident Boarding Tutor, you are expected to complete the Australian Boarding Schools Association Duty of Care Course and maintain relevant qualifications regarding boarder management.
