Industry Operations Director

As the building, construction, and manufacturing sectors continue to grow, so does the demand for industry-related equipment hire services. To meet this need, a highly skilled Operations Manager is required to oversee the smooth running of the department, ensuring operational efficiencies are maximized.

The Role

This key position will play a critical role in driving business success by leading a team of professionals to deliver exceptional customer service, resulting in repeat business and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing operations, client services, and sales within the transport, machine hire, or construction industries.

  • Able to motivate, mentor, and grow a new and expanding team.
  • Roll up sleeves and conduct a deep dive on current processes to ensure monthly efficiencies.
  • Able to work with the team to address issues such as delivery problems, returns, order decisions, emergency orders, transportation, etc.
  • A manager who can effortlessly transition into a team member role when needed, mentoring and supporting colleagues in times of high workload.
  • Oversee all service accounts, new accounts, and agreements.
  • Champion IT matters for the branch.
  • Ensure and manage the process of turning enquiries into sales.
  • Quoting and following through with clients for new and existing sales.
  • Able to multitask and make commercial decisions for the branch.
  • Seek new business and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
Requirements
  • Have worked in a management role within transport, machine hire, construction, or the service industry.
  • Proven experience in operations, client services, and sales.
  • Able to mentor and train new staff.
  • Experience with profit and loss statements.
  • Able to lead by example.
  • Work to policy and procedure while ensuring all processes meet industry standards.
