Language Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Language Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a staff of teachers of Chinese, Indonesian, and Korean.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

The successful applicant must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, the applicant must have:

  • Approval to teach Chinese, Indonesian, or Korean in Years 9-12 and one other language or EAL/D Years 9-12 taught at our school;
  • Proven commitment and ability to work as part of a large Executive Team, focusing on strengthening the school strategic vision and whole-school priorities;
  • Highly visible, innovative, and engaging leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who has demonstrated experience in supporting staff with diverse teaching experience, home school supervisors, parents, students, and community members;
  • Capacity to lead and supervise languages programs and the development of blended learning materials including assessments to support the engagement and participation of students in differentiated distance education learning programs.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with our department, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this role.
