Conservation Professional

We are seeking a professional to support ecological assessment and management on a range of development projects in NSW.

Our company specialises in ecology and bushfire, offering high-quality services to clients in government, commercial and residential sectors.

The successful applicant will join a team of excellent professionals with a range of skills and expertise. They will support projects including infrastructure developments and smaller projects in various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct flora surveys, vegetation mapping, biodiversity monitoring, habitat monitoring, and threatened species monitoring.
• Develop environmental plans and impact assessments.
• Collect, analyse, interpret and communicate ecological data using GIS software.
• Work independently on ecological tasks and activities, and in remote locations.
• Plan and implement ecological fieldwork for general and targeted surveys.
• Have a strong understanding of NSW and Australian legislation and its applicability to environmental reporting.

Requirements:

• A recognised tertiary qualification in Botany/Ecology.
• High-level plant identification skills.
• At least 2 years relevant industry experience in a consulting role.
• Ability to use GIS software.
• Strong project and client management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software.
• A full driver's licence.
• Willingness to become a member of the Ecological Consultants Association of NSW Inc.

Desirable Experience:

• Demonstrated experience and skills in business management.
• Experience in NSW environmental law.
• Experience in NSW planning.
• Qualification as an arborist.
• Graduate Diploma in Bushfire Protection.
