Lead Mechanic

This is a challenging and dynamic position that involves coordinating multiple technical aspects, including project management, contract execution, and operational coordination.
- Take on a visible leadership role in promoting a safety-first culture among the Mine Services team and stakeholders.
- Develop and apply analytical skills to drive improvement in departmental capabilities using BHP Operating System tools.
- Oversee mechanical improvement projects from conception through to delivery and closeout.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Prior experience in heavy industry, mining, or underground operations would be advantageous.
- Have a strong understanding of mechanical infrastructure, including compressed air systems, water reticulation, pumping stations, barricades, backfill reticulation, and ventilation systems.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in PowerBI for data analysis and consolidation.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
