Job Title: Principal Project Manager, Energy and Public Works
Department: Department of Energy and Public Works QLD
Key Responsibilities- Project Delivery: Engage in the end-to-end delivery of significant high-risk, high-value projects with varied and significant constraints.
- Strategic Advice: Draw on experience and understanding of legal, commercial, and policy matters to provide direction for complex capital works projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management of other government agencies, community groups, and the private sector on key project issues.
- Project Management: Manage competing project management priorities and achieve project milestones on time and to budget.
- Reporting: Prepare high-quality briefs and reports, including cabinet submissions and other significant policy and project management papers on complex issues relevant to capital works projects.
- Procurement: Understand the key drivers and risks of differing procurement methodologies and develop strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Team Management: Project manage the implementation of complex capital works projects, utilizing various procurement methods, and manage the performance of multi-disciplinary teams to consistently meet project time, cost, and quality requirements.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in project management, engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Significant experience in project management, particularly in the energy and public works sector.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
