Job Description

You'll be working closely with AI to deliver superior outcomes for our customers, employees, and the wider community. We're a global leader in AI ambition, and together we'll innovate the future of banking with cutting-edge AI-powered engineering solutions.

  • As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with top engineers and AI experts to drive training, culture, and experimentation. You'll utilize AI-assisted tools and capabilities to enhance the engineering experience and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate on complex technical problems, contributing to design and implementation to ensure high-quality engineering outcomes.

  2. Translate requirements into engineering solutions and assist team members in breaking down work and creating clarity.

  3. Experiment with emerging AI-assisted engineering tools and provide feedback and insights from real-world testing.

  4. Deliver robust and reusable solutions that seamlessly integrate into other teams' workflows and products.

  5. Support a customer-centric approach, doing work that aligns with user needs and organizational goals.

  6. Contribute to architectural discussions and propose improvements, role-modeling standards and best practices.

  7. Actively participate in code reviews, maintain high-quality code bases, and assist in documentation for knowledge sharing.

  8. Work on cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment and addressing inter-dependencies.

  9. Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and squad members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We're interested in candidates with:

  • Extensive experience designing and implementing scalable software solutions.

  • A working knowledge of AI/ML applications and how they can enhance software engineering processes to improve productivity.

  • Experience building RAGs using LlamaIndex, LangChain, or similar frameworks.

  • Preferably have experience building Agentic AI systems using AutoGen, CrewAI, Pydantic, or similar frameworks.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or C#) and experience developing microservices architecture on cloud platforms (AWS & Azure).

  • A keen interest in researching new AI tooling and daily use of AI coding assistants.

  • Knowledge of Anthropic Claude, Llama, LiteLLM, Cursor, windsurf / Codeium, VO Vercel, Continue, Aider, Cline, Langchain, Langgraph, Hugging Face is highly desirable.

  • Strong technical leadership skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to solve business-critical problems.

  • Ability to provide technical direction to teams and review designs and code to ensure best practices.

  • Proficiency in agile development methodologies and iterative experimentation from ideation to prototype to pilot to product.
