Midwifery Career Pathway

This opportunity enables you to gain a Registered Midwife qualification while employed as a Registered Nurse.

You will work in maternity units and have access to paid study leave to pursue your Graduate Diploma in Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame.

  • Job Summary:
  • We are seeking applications from Registered Nurses who would like to gain a Registered Midwife qualification.
  • Responsibilities include working in maternity units, participating in clinical rotations, and having access to intensive preceptor and clinical educator support.
  • Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • At least one year post-graduate experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Eligibility to enrol in the 2026 February intake of the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least one year post-graduate experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
