Job Title: Gallery & Public Art Coordinator

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gallery & Public Art Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gallery, taking care of permanent collections, artworks for specific exhibitions, and the City's Public Art portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an annual calendar of exhibitions and events, including liaison with local, state and national exhibition providers, artists and interest groups.
  • Curate the City's art collections, including Public Art, overseeing records management, condition monitoring, professional handling and security of collection items.
  • Establish and grow a schedule of community art workshops and associated exhibitions that promote access and inclusion to the arts.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Geraldton Visitor Centre to support and enhance the City's vision of Geraldton as a desirable tourist destination.

Requirements:

We are looking for a professional, motivated and dynamic person with specialist knowledge in the care and handling of art, plus extensive experience in the development and delivery of arts-related programmes.

Benefits:
