Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineering Lead to join our project team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will provide input, guidance, and recommendations for cost engineering requirements relative to staffing and project control.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
  • Analyze and provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
  • Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Review identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
  • Maintain open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities.
Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in directing project cost engineering, including cost control and analysis, cost reporting, incurred cost assessment, and conducting meetings.
  • Experience in establishing criteria for Project Controls cost activities and in cost and commitment and incurred cost analysis and management.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
