Job Title: Data Management Specialist

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of data systems, ensuring seamless integration with other financial applications. This includes ownership of business processes related to finance system management, data architecture, and project coordination.

A key role in addressing performance, availability, and quality issues related to finance systems, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems and execute change requests. The individual will also contribute to driving process improvements across the Finance function.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in PeopleSoft or Oracle skills, SQL, and coding expertise. Alternatively, a genuine desire to learn on the job is highly valued.

This role involves working closely with stakeholders to extract and enrich data from multiple sources, including the data warehouse, treasury management system, and other reference systems. Over time, the successful candidate will help identify opportunities to automate and digitize existing processes, enhancing controls within the Finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the continued effectiveness of the required infrastructure across data, processes, and systems to maintain accounting, payments, closing, and reporting integrity and efficiency across the wider Finance function.
  • Implementing functional training for Finance system users utilizing PeopleSoft.
  • Supporting the team on finance systems projects and ad-hoc requests, including the development of financial reports.
  • Coordinating and executing acceptance testing.
  • Delivering finance project management, including ongoing engagement with technology and global teams.
  • Documenting business requirements, systems architecture, and processes.
  • Monitoring data and processes to ensure the integrity and efficiency of Finance outputs.
  • Managing Accounts Payable and General Ledger, including maintenance of accounts, cost centers, etc.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for users regarding PeopleSoft.
  • Developing and maintaining Business Objects Reports.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in developing test plans and test scripts, with a strong background in end-to-end functional testing activities.
  • Highly analytical, problem-solving, lateral thinking, and interpretive skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • SQL/VBA or other programming experience (nice to have).
  • Proficient working knowledge in RDBMS (SQL, PL/SQL): programming proficiency in PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, and Application Packages.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with proven experience working with Agile Ways of Working.
  • A desire to learn and succeed, with a positive and proactive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to balance deadlines, priorities, and work on concurrent tasks with good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
