Flexible working opportunities are available, ensuring you can balance your career ambitions with your personal commitments.What you'll do:As a Senior Financial Analyst Finance Systems based in Sydney, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive management reports that drive business performance.
Your day-to-day activities will involve partnering with cross-functional teams to provide valuable financial insights while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity within core finance systems.
You will champion process improvements by identifying automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.
In addition to supporting planning cycles with advanced modelling techniques, you will act as the go-to expert for IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), ensuring seamless system operation through regular maintenance and user support.
Your ability to document processes thoroughly will underpin compliance efforts while your collaborative approach will foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
By contributing to key projects aimed at enhancing reporting capabilities or implementing new technologies, you will help shape the future direction of financial operations within a forward-thinking environment.Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly management reports, providing detailed analysis of performance, variances, and trends to inform business decisions.Support annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting cycles by developing robust models and conducting scenario analysis to guide resource allocation.Partner with Finance and Project teams to offer financial insights and recommendations that empower business leaders across various departments.Monitor departmental and project costs meticulously, ensuring precise allocation and effective cost management throughout the organisation.Maintain general ledger accuracy by performing reconciliations and journal entries while supporting both internal and external audit requirements.Act as the subject matter expert for IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), overseeing system maintenance including audits, troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance monitoring.Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across all financial systems by documenting workflows, processes, and system changes from a Finance perspective.Lead Finance input into the design and implementation of new systems or enhancements.Work collaboratively with IT teams to optimise system configuration while ensuring security protocols, recovery measures, and resilience are maintained.Identify automation opportunities within reporting, forecasting, and analysis processes to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency across Finance.Provide technical support and training to Finance users of TM1 and other applications by developing best practice materials that improve system adoption.
What you bring: Significant experience in management accounting combined with proven expertise in financial analysis and reporting within complex organisations.Demonstrated proficiency in administering finance systems such as IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), including system maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance monitoring.Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles alongside deep knowledge of management reporting cycles as well as planning and forecasting methodologies.Experience managing costs using charge-back or cost-recovery models coupled with an ability to produce clear performance reports for diverse audiences.Advanced skills in financial modelling and scenario planning supported by strong Excel abilities along with familiarity with data visualisation tools.Proven track record documenting workflows, managing integrations between systems, and driving process automation initiatives that deliver tangible results.Excellent communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders across Finance, IT teams, senior leadership groups, and business unit leaders.Project management experience gained from leading or supporting finance-related systems implementations or process improvement initiatives.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
