This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the fleet maintenance team in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of vehicles and equipment. As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the overall workshop performance, including cost recovery, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
A key aspect of this role is developing and implementing strategies to improve workshop efficiency, productivity, and profitability. You will work closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address them. Your expertise in trade skills, communication, and leadership will be essential in driving high standards and promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing daily activities, coaching and counseling employees, monitoring workflow, and anticipating customer needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining established work systems and ensuring effective administration functions to ensure the efficient running of the workshop.
To succeed in this role, you will need proven experience in a similar transport or logistics industry, demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment, good written and verbal communication skills, and previous diagnostic investigation experience. You must be a team player who consistently delivers an exceptional customer service experience and can build and maintain engaged and productive teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities of Toll employees and ensure that all work and is performed safely and that an ongoing commitment to safety is maintained including proactive actions to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
- Maintain staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership behaviours and monitor and promote HSES & QA programs, to achieve a safe and incident free culture.
- Control workflow for minimum vehicle downtime and maximum workshop output.
- Anticipate customer needs and identify opportunities to significantly enhance the breadth and quality of the service experience.
- Ensure established work systems are in place and people can work effectively as individuals and as a team to achieve the standards and results in line with best practice.
