We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Evolve Scientific. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for advancing our capabilities in protein purification and bioanalytical methods for therapeutic antibodies.

About the Role

This is a 15-month contract position, providing maternity leave cover. We are looking for an individual with experience in purification and bioanalytical methods for therapeutic antibodies to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purifying monoclonal antibodies, antibody fragments, fusion proteins, and multi-specific antibodies using mammalian systems.
  • Performing biophysical analysis on monoclonal antibodies.
  • Organizing, supporting, and collaborating with other team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.
  • Using an ELN and database management system to compile data, generate reports, and track inventory.
  • Training and mentoring more junior scientists.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field or an M.Sc. or Honours degree with several years of relevant molecular biology, protein production, and protein analytical experience.
  • Experience with protein purification techniques such as affinity chromatography and SEC/Ion exchange chromatography.
  • Expertise in biophysical analysis of proteins, particularly monoclonal antibodies (including SDS-PAGE, SEC, IEF, and other HPLC methods).
  • A general knowledge of monoclonal antibody structure as it relates to biophysical properties.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
