About the RoleWe are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team to provide clinical leadership to a dedicated and highly motivated nursing team within our Medical Service. Ward 4A is a 32-bed mixed medical ward caring for Acute Stroke, Neurology & General Medicine patients.
As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead and inspire a highly motivated team to deliver safe, quality, and effective person-centered care to our patients. You will ensure inclusivity and a positive and collaborative environment, and play a key role in ensuring patient, staff, and stakeholder engagement.
You will be accountable for delivering on key quality assurance and performance indicators, as well as achieving operational, financial, and workforce management targets. You will be well-supported by the leadership team for professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership to a dedicated and highly motivated nursing team
- Lead and inspire a team to deliver safe, quality, and effective person-centered care
- Ensure inclusivity and a positive and collaborative environment
- Accountable for delivering on key quality assurance and performance indicators
- Achieve operational, financial, and workforce management targets
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in medical nursing
- Post Graduate qualification in a specialty field / or higher / working towards
- Experience in managing a department (including acting/deputising a manager role)
- Nursing experience in both the public and private healthcare sector
