Investment Strategist Role

We are seeking an Investment Strategist to join our team in Sydney. This role involves preparing and delivering presentations that convey complex investment concepts in more accessible terms for consultants, clients, and prospects.

The successful candidate will conduct empirical research related to portfolio structure and implementation, run historical simulations, perform attribution and characteristics analysis, conduct econometric tests to evaluate the impact of different portfolio construction and implementation approaches on expected performance, costs and diversification of our investment strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Present complex investment concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Conduct empirical research and analysis to inform investment decisions.
  • Represent the company at client conferences, meetings and events.
  • Foster relationships with external-facing account managers to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support special projects and initiatives across departments.

Requirements

  • A minimum Masters degree in finance, economics, mathematics or a related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in a related role with a strong understanding of asset management and capital markets.
  • Empirical research experience with large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve problems independently.
  • Motivated to self-teach and apply knowledge effectively.
  • Strong ability to operate and prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
