Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic Submariner to join our team at the Australian Defence Force. As a Marine Technician Submariner - Propulsion, you will be responsible for operating, diagnosing, and maintaining propulsion systems onboard submarines and ashore.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain propulsion systems, including hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and auxiliary systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with propulsion systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs to ensure systems remain mission capable.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including boat security, firefighting, flood repair, first aid, medical emergency team member, ammunitioning, or ceremonial duties.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed Mobile and Plant Mechanic (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work at sea and in a variety of environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
